| Gonzalez & Harris Welcomes Senior Attorney Dora Komura and Legal Assistant Elaine Lau |

This week we welcome Dora Komura, who is joining the firm as a Senior Attorney. Ms. Komura has accumulated more than 18 years of experience in the areas of immigration, civil, corporate, entertainment, and family law, including five years with Universal Studios, three years as a partner with the firm of Browne, Sand and Komura, and four years in private practice. Her experience encompasses litigation, arbitration, and immigration court proceedings.
Ms. Komura will manage the firm’s Family Immigration and Naturalization Unit, including relative immigrant petition, adjustment of status, consular processing and naturalization processes. She will also work with employment-based nonimmigrant processes, including H-1B, L-1, E, O and TN classifications.
Ms. Komura was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1993. She received her Juris Doctorate (law) degree from Southwestern University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Foreign Languages from the University of the Redlands. She also studied at Kansai Gaidai University in Japan and the University of the Americas in Puebla, Mexico. She is familiar with Japanese language and customs and is bilingual (Spanish).
In March, Elaine Lau joined Gonzalez & Harris as a Legal Assistant. Ms. Lau has more than five years of experience in immigration law, and will primarily work on employment-based immigrant petitions and adjustment of status, consular processing, and labor certification (PERM) cases. Elaine has a Master’s degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Newcastle (New South Wales, Australia), and is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
