Dora M. Komura

Dora Komura has accumulated more than 20 years of experience in the areas of immigration, civil, corporate, entertainment, and family law, including five years with Universal Studios, three years as a partner with the firm of Browne, Sand and Komura, and over 10 years in private practice. Her experience encompasses litigation, arbitration, and immigration court proceedings.

Ms. Komura manages the firm’s Family Immigration and Naturalization Unit, including relative immigrant petition, adjustment of status, consular processing and naturalization processes. She also works with nonimmigrant processes for relatives and employees, including H-1B professional workers; L-1 transfers from branch or parent offices overseas; E visas for employees and owners of companies owned by treaty country nationals and operating in the U.S.; O-1 for individuals with extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business or athletics; P visas for artists, entertainers and athletes, and free trade agreement classification for citizens of Canada and Mexico.

Ms. Komura specializes in procuring visas for the entertainment industry. She has assisted in processing O visas for directors, producers, actors, and production crew. These visas are often for productions that have an immediate need of cast and crew in the United States and Ms. Komura’s efforts and results go unmatched. Her clients include individual actors, extraordinary support crew, talent agencies, independent productions, and large production studios such as Universal Pictures, Working Title Films, and DreamWorks Studios.

Ms. Komura was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1993. She received her Juris Doctorate (law) degree from Southwestern University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Foreign Languages from the University of the Redlands. She also studied at Kansai Gaidai University in Japan and the University of the Americas in Puebla, Mexico. She is familiar with Japanese language and customs and is bilingual (Spanish).
