There are some alternatives in the event that H-1B classification is not available for the individual, such as the Free Trade classifications for citizens of Australia, Canada, Mexico, Chile and Singapore; E-1 and E-2 for nationals of treaty countries; J-1 visitor exchange programs; O-1s for extraordinary foreign nationals; and L-1s for individuals who are transferring from qualifying entities overseas.
